Dog Behavior Consultation
Get support for fear, reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety, new rescues and more. During your initial consult, Althea Karwowski, CPDT-KA, SAPT will assess your dog's behavioral history, make management recommendations that can be implemented immediately and recommendations for ongoing training to transform your life with your dog.
A consult provides you with a comprehensive assessment of your dog’s behavior and actionable steps to take in the short and long term. All of Sit Stay SF’s recommendations and programs are force-free, positive-reinforcement based and humane.
An Initial Consult is 60 minutes long and held online via zoom. A Consult includes:
Detailed review of your dog’s behavioral history and your goals
Discussion of humane, reward-based training methods
Recommendations for management that you can start implementing immediately
Recommendations for enrichment
Discussion of a personalized ongoing training program

Ongoing Training Subscriptions
After an initial consultation, if both you and Althea choose to work together, training is offered on a monthly subscription basis. You can sign up for one month at a time and decide whether to continue each month. Ongoing training is offered in a highly personalized, online format.
Every week you receive individualized homework instructions for training exercises to practice with your dog. Twice a week, you send a set of short (1-5 minute) videos practicing each of your training exercises. Althea provides audio feedback for each video- celebrating what is going well, how to improve and what the next steps will be. Video review allows for detailed assessment of your dog’s body language; Althea decodes and coaches you to be an expert at understanding your dog. You also have access to a 1:1 chat thread with Althea for questions, advice and support for training.
Because dog training is very much about training people to train their dogs, the video review component of online training provides structure and accountability for you to practice exercises regularly with your dog. Video review is a powerful learning tool because it allows for expert feedback from Althea AND an opportunity for you to look back and watch your own training. You benefit from highlighted details that may be missed in real time - in your dog’s body language, your training mechanics and the environment.
