Althea Karwowski is a CCPDT Certified Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and a Certified SA Pro trainer (SAPT). She has completed the Aggression in Dogs Master Course. Althea brings over a decade of experience training dogs and coaching people to train their dogs. Althea has taught Bravery Class for Shy Dogs, Shy Dog Seminar, Just the Basics and New Dog 101 at the San Francisco SPCA. Having graduated from the SF SPCA Volunteer Internship Program, an intensive course centered on training shelter dogs in 2013, Althea continues to be a recommended trainer for fear, reactivity, anxiety and aggression in dogs. Althea continues to build her expertise through ongoing continuing education and mentorship.

Althea uses force-free, humane dog training methods, grounded in the science of how dogs learn. Althea centers management and safety to prevent unwanted behaviors and uses positive reinforcement and classical conditioning to reinforce desired behaviors and change the emotions underlying problem behaviors. Althea never uses pain, startle or intimidation working with dogs.
